Welcome to the Mecklenburg Council on Health and Fitness.
We aim to: 
  • Link health and fitness enthusiasts and professionals 
  • Educate the public about the importance of regular physical activity
  • Offer leadership and serve as a resource for the Mecklenburg Council on Health and Fitness membership


The Fit City Challenge is a community level initiative to encourage and empower program participants to increase their level of physical activity, and fruit and vegetable consumption. 

At the core of the Fit City Challenge are the parallel goals of walking five miles a week and eating five fruits and vegetables each day.
